After training at the Beaux-Arts in Naples, Garrick Yrondi settled in the Marquesas where he lived for several years in harmony with the Terre des Hommes, fishing and hunting, marveling at every moment of the beauty of the islands and the great generosity of the Marquesan welcome. He realized this fresco "The Announcement made to Mary" in the Hohoi Chapel in Ua Pou, a work that the artist seems to offer to the community.
